I’m getting an error code at the users page while this plugin is activated.

Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in /homepages/19/d324031367/htdocs/deathblog/wp-includes/user.php on line 640

Works great in FF3.6, but can’t get it to display in IE7. I just see the default IE icon. Any suggestions?

    • June 7th, 2010 at 12:12 | #6

hi, IE have a big problem with favicons and cache, to work here i had to clean the cache, the history and do a force refresh (CTRL+F5) and than it worked! try that.

  5. May 26th, 2010 at 06:26 | #7

    @Mel
Well I can’t see any other issue. Loaded the icon in wp-content as well in case. Checked ico file valid with html-kit validator. Page initially loads in IE then content disappears. Will have to unistall – pity. Will be keen to review again in future.

Worked brilliantly in FF but in IE it rendered my site unviewable. Bizarre. – will see if the problem is something other than plugin.

I figured it out. After installing it in WordPress, then login to host, Cpanel, File Manager, upload favicon symbol. Then set WordPress settings to “Blog” instead of “Default”. Default favicon will not show up anyway until a symbol is uploaded to File Manager.

    It is not working!

With the default settings, the default favicon is not showing up. The default W for WordPress shows up when logged in, but the W does not show up when site is called up on the internet. The default favicon should be the red box not the W. Nothing shows up. WordPress version 2.9.2

The example shows /blog/favicon in the url. Not sure if I should add, /blog/ to my url and select blog instead of default.

Thanks for creating this plugin! Instructions: I login to WordPress Blog Admin. Plugins/Add New /Search Term: Shockingly-Simple-Favicon. Install. Activate.

The default favicon (a red box) will appear? Or I can select blog and upload another symbol? I wonder how this is done? From the over 50k favicons, I can download a favicon, but it is lost in my pictures; unable to find it after downloading. Unable to upload, not knowing where it is at in the pictures gallery.

    Thank you!

Excuse if I’m dumb but I’m not getting this to work. I have the Thesis theme with my WordPress blog and I uploaded my ico file to my FTP under my theme’s custom folder. How do I know the URL for the image? For this option which option from the drop down do I choose none or blog? Sorry, I’m new to web developing. And apparently I’m not very good at it. Any help would be useful.

Olá, se aceita sugestões de um plugin que está em falta e fazendo as pessoas passarem nervoso com plugins mal-feitos, minha sugestão é um plugin para gerenciar quizzes e testes.

O melhorzinho do mercado é o Quizzin.

Hi, it seems only admin favicon works in 2.9.1 WP, not site favicon :o(

    • January 7th, 2010 at 14:42 | #25

hi! im using the 2.9.1 in this blog and its working. in two weeks i am strating my vacation and i will update the plugins and test them with the last version of WP.

    A great plugin, thanks!

Just an idea: the favicon.ico file could be located in the wp-content directory, not the top dir. Then backups of site content are easier.
    Thanks,
    Rick
