The “Shockingly simple favicon” changes the favicon of your blog without having to edit the theme files, and put a WordPress icon in the admin interface, so you can easily spot the admin tab in your browser. This changes are fixed so you dont have to mess with theme code everytime you change theme.

You should post an update on the WordPress plugin website, it says you haven’t updated in over 2 years.
The plugin works, but still it makes you look bad for no reason!

This plugin works great. I had to clear cache also but I kind of expected that. Thanks.
I am using your plugin to insert a favicon to my blog. I have uploaded the
image to my host directory and activated the plugin. At the administrative
interface, the image appears next to the URL, but it doesn’t appear in the
browser. What is the problem?
Can you help me?
Thanks

Hi,
I don’t have access to my root folder for access through ftp. Is there a way to upload my favicon to the root directory through wordpress?
”
The instructions included this – Upload your favicon to http://www.omahoneysocialmedia.co.uk/, the file should be named favicon.ico.”
I don’t know how to do that.
Please help
Thanks
John
Here’s what I did to get mine to work, in firefox, but unable to in explorer
Im not sure what fixed it , but my last step finally displayed it.
Followed instructions per plugin, didnt work,
read tips here and replaced the favicon.ico file in wp-content. didnt work.
added the ico file to the image folder in the root,
then went back to the plugin and changed the url path from my wordpresssite.com/favicon.ico to wordpresssite.com/images/favicon.ico
and BAM it displayed in the box,
so I saved the changes and viewed my page and there was the favicon next to my url !! checked it in explorer and it did not work, but thats ok I’lll settle for this. Thanks for the plugin and your hard work !
I cannot get this to work, instructions are very vague and have exhausted all searches on this plugin… I have attempted different images, different locations in my file manager, cleared cookies/cache… am using Firefox and read it should appear instantaneously. It is not working, any other suggestions?
Can someone please break it down for me, how this plugin is meant to work? I can NOT get it to display my favicon. I’ve tried everything, and am at the end of my rope. I was really hoping this would be easy, but I’m out of ideas. I’ve uninstalled/reinstalled the plugin, cleaned my cache, used a different image, used the same image under a different name… ARGH!
I use this Plugin on my site http://www.originbmxco.com its great!
I did as instructed, put favicon in my root folder and then installed plugin but favicon does not display in any browser or on my laptop that has never browsed the site before.
Thanks for the hard work hope I can get it to work.
@Theresa
@Theresa instead of using S.Simple favicon you should try http://www.favicon.cc instead. After making your icon you must log in to get a HTML-code. This code snippet must be addet to your header.php in the blogeditor. Relatively simple it is.. :)
hi:
I installed this plugin several times and it didn´t work, i cleaned my cache and i have thinked format the pc to see, ehhehehe, this is joke.any ideas?
