Hi, since i updated some plugins the favicon will not display in back- and frontend. It shows the icon in the backend admin options area, but not in the browser (FF, IE).
Thanks for any ideas.
Trying to get this to work in IE8 on kinkfriendlylaw.com . . . this problem is still not resovled . . . other than that; a great plug-in!
I have done everything to get the favicon working. I use IE7 and it has been a few days, I’ve emptied the cache but still no favicon on this computer? Any ideas?
Great plugin, works fine so far — but:
I maintain a second wp installation for the subdomain of my wife, located in a subfolder of my main domain and there seems to be some problem for the plugin to find the favicon. Any suggestion?
Works the best, it should have FIVE stars. Your app, works the best!!!

LOL I hear you!
I am a bit new … but the problem I ran into with IE7 and IE8 had to do with a file that isn’t updated with the refresh of the browser … If it is working in FF, then its not the plugin probably as much as IE8 – it like to “overcache” everything to be helpful .. but annoying when you want to change something! LOL there is a way to clear this “cache” where the favicon info sits, but it does update itself every few times. So new vistors will see the new one, old vistors will see the new one in a few days … since even if you clear your cache on your browser ..the vistors still have theirs! LOL mine took like 2 days to update. Since it was working fine in FF, I didn;t bother to hard with it. Sure enough 2 days later boom, my favicon appears .. ;)
That may or may not be what is happening with yours … but thought I would mention it. Have a great day!
Robyn
Very easy plug-in. works perfect in Firefox but nothing shows in IE8
Good God why is IE always such a pain. They have more money than God
but they can’t get there browsers to be compatible with anything.
Hopefully this will be an easy fix. Again thanks
@Terry Bettendorf
I have the same issue, worked perfectly well on my old blog
/Peter
I can get the icon to work on all but IE Explorer, neither version 7 nor 8 are working. Anybody have a trick to make it work right? I checked and the icon is 16×16 – pretty simple icon too.
Works a treat after a bit of tweaking – thanks
I cant get it to work,I see the plugin and activated it, where can I add the actual pic.I am not seeing it anywhere I add it.Do I edit it through the plug in editor,or add it to the header files?? I had been trying to insert through the header.php and also tried uploading it through my hosting.Nothing seems to be working…help if you can Thank You!!!!Kathy
Works perfectly on http://freshgadgets.nl
Thanks very much!
Thanks for everything this site’s administrator are working for WordPress plugin ! My site are using your plugin, and it is great for us.
Hola Matias
great plugin – thanks!
I use WP 2.8 installed directly in the root, with a static start page, some more static pages and a blog. I initially tried to implement a favicon in the header.php of my theme, but it came up only on the start page. With your plugin, the favicon appears on all pages but, alas, not on the blog.
I can’t show you the site, it’s not live yet. Any ideas how to make the favicon appear on the blog too?
Thanks
Michael
Ahhh!, it is now WORKING. Just had to clear the “cashe” in firefox. Didn’t know I had to do this. Might be a good thing to put in the directions.
I love your favicon program but I can’t get it to work. The favicon is on the server at http://www.scottfisk.com/favicon.ico.
The widget is trying to work – I see this when viewing html source.
Any ideas?

Why is my settings page blank? I uploaded it directly through WP and manually through FTP, but it still ends up blank. Any help?
Great plugin, very easy to upload favicon now…
It took me seconds. :D
thanks
@Terry Bettendorf
Looks like your favicon is working now.
This is cool! Coincidentally we use the same theme from mg12.
I have gallery and wiki in sub directory, the good thing are they also displayed the favicon.
Thanks a lot!
The file_exists checking is broken. When I enter a correct URL to my icon, then the plugins dismisses it and replaces it with the default one. It does, because it can’t locate the file in the local file system. Of course it can’t! My blog is not in the root of my site, for one thing. You can not just do some tricks with URL components to find the actual file location. Web servers operate with virtual folders.
I remove the file_exists lines (if block), and it works. The rest is good. Please just accept the given URL in the nest version, or better, just test if the URL gets a status 200.
I’m using your plug-in and had high hopes. For some reason, it is seeing the favicon.ico in my root folder, as picked up automatically by the plug in. The admin icon option even works, but for some reason, the blog one does not. It’s like the update button does not work.

Do I have to change directory permissions? Anything like that? Your assistance/guidance would be much appreciated!
Thanks,
Terry
Easy way to add a favicon. Thanks!
